Presentations:
Community information is broken. How can we fix it? - Kim Foale
Dr Kim Foale is the founder of Geeks for Social Change, a small tech collective that works with marginalised communities. Community information quality has been in decline for years. We used to share infrastructure for getting the word out: community forums, local newsletters, shared listings. The corporate web replaced all that with the expectation that every group does its own promotion on Instagram or Facebook, or through a website platform no-one really knows how to use. Kim will talk about GFSC's approach to fixing this
Generating 100k Signatures using Free Tech and Social Media - Hilary Stephenson
A whistlestop tour on how we used free tech, volunteers, community platforms and social media to generate 100,000 signatures in a 12 month campaign.
Macc Pride overview - Joanne Stratford
Joanne Stratford from Macclesfield Pride will give an update on their activities, community support work and plans for this year's Pride celebrations and events.
PlaceCal - Rach Penn
Building a PlaceCal community calendar for Macclesfield.
Our hosts Nexer Digital will be providing complimentary refreshments and catering.
